Autism is a condition which affects how an individual communicates with and relates to other people and the world around them. It is increasingly recognised in children and adults. In Scottish schools, 1 child in 67 has an Autism diagnosis making the condition more common than juvenile diabetes and childhood cancers combined.
A lack of awareness and understanding of Autism can lead to a range of problems, from isolation and discrimination to poor service provision.
Strategy for Autism
We have developed a local Autism strategy in partnership with Service Users, Carers, Clackmannanshire Council, NHS Forth Valley and the Third Sector.
Autism Forth Valley
We have developed a website, Autism Forth Valley, for people with autism, their parents and carers and autism professionals.
