Please visit our Dedicated Website for all information on flooding in Callander. Here you will find further information and updates on both the Callander Flood Protection Scheme and Surface Water Management Plan that Stirling Council is currently developing.
Together the two projects aim to further understand the causes and potential mitigation options of flooding. There are varied sources and causes of flooding in a number of different locations in Callander. You will also find information on previous consultation events and reports.
The proposed scheme is to be designed to protect properties to the 1 in 25-50 year return period. This is the point at which properties start to flood. This standard of protection was decided upon as most appropriate due to highest cost benefit and acceptability of visual impacts. It is comprised of a flood wall with two flood gates. Schemes at other locations in Callander were also considered however were ruled out due to low cost benefit and potential increase of flood risk elsewhere. More detailed information is available below.
