To commemorate 103 years since the end of the First World War, a service will be held at the Church of the Holy Rude at 10.45am to pay respect to members of the armed forced who lost their lives in the service of their country. Please be aware that, due to COVID restrictions, attendance is by invitation only.
Following the service, there will be a parade from the Church to the Cenotaph on Corn Exchange Rd where the laying of wreaths will take place.
Stirling Council Provost, Christine Simpson, will lay a wreath at the Cenotaph in the City after the service.
Provost Simpson said: “Remembrance Sunday is a poignant and moving day of reflection when we commemorate the sacrifices of our servicemen and women who paid the ultimate price in defending our country.
“It’s important we remember the fallen to whom we owe so much, and it will be an honour to lay a wreath on behalf of the people of Stirling.
“Please remember that attendance at the Church of the Holy Rude is by invitation only and I would urge residents who cannot attend to take the time to reflect and remember the sacrifices of our servicemen and women from the safety of their own homes.”
Road closures will be in place in the City Centre and in other locations across Stirling as Communities hold their own Remembrance Services.
For full road closure information is available on the Council’s website.
