Stirling Council residents are being asked to look out for letters starting to drop through doors this week (w/c Nov 9) advising them when their current style of grey and brown bins will be replaced.

The removal and replacement of the grey (general waste) and brown (food & garden) bins is the first phase of a larger waste transformation programme, which will reduce waste to landfill and increase recycling rates to meet national targets.

Letters are being sent out in batches throughout November, December and early January 2021 to tie in with bin swap dates, so not everyone will receive their letter in this first November drop.

Householder letters will detail the specific dates their bins will be emptied, removed and replaced.

Normal collection days

The replacement schedule has been set to match existing collection days to make it easier for residents and will begin on the 16th of November and continue until February 2021 with a break over the Festive period.

It is important that all old-style grey and brown bins are presented on the dates detailed in the letters, even if they are not full.

Refuse collection vehicles will not empty the old-style bins after the bin swap date.
