Stirling Council is urging community groups to contact the local authority to assist with coordination of community support.
Stirling Council Update

The Council has received enquiries from residents, local groups and organisations seeking guidance on how to support vulnerable people during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Any community group wishing to play their part in Stirling’s response should contact: Crawford Bell bellc@stirling.gov.uk – Community Development Manager, Stirling Council.

Stirling Council Leader, Cllr Scott Farmer, said: “Stirling is demonstrating its thriving community spirit to combat the effects of COVID-19.

“Stirling Council community resilience plans are being coordinated and supported with colleagues and partners across the public, private and third sectors.

“In the first instance, any organisations and individuals who are in a position to offer help should contact Stirling Council’s Community Development Manager and this will ensure all efforts are prioritised and co-ordinated.

“Difficult circumstances bring out the best in people, and we need to make sure we are all looking after each other, supporting the most isolated and vulnerable and exercising responsible buying behaviour and avoid panic buying.”

Depute Leader of Stirling Council, Cllr Danny Gibson, said: “We have been overwhelmed with offers of support from individuals and organisations.

“This shows the strength and resilience of our communities in recognising the challenges being faced by others.

“Being responsible and considering the needs of everyone and by working together we will do our very best to help all our communities cope with this ever-changing situation.”
