Stirling Council Coronavirus Update

Small B&Bs that were previously ineligible for other support due to not having a business bank account can now access the Scottish Government’s Bed and Breakfast fund.

The new funding, which is aimed specifically at small B&Bs across Stirling operating with a personal or joint personal bank account, will be administered for local businesses by Stirling Council.

Those who can apply for the fund include B&Bs and other establishments offering bed and breakfast services, such as guest houses, farmhouses, inns and restaurants with rooms.

Information on the qualifying criteria for the fund and an online application form can be found on the Stirling Council website.

Convenor of Stirling Council’s Finance and Economy Committee, Councillor Margaret Brisley, said: “These businesses are an important part of Stirling’s tourism sector, particularly in our vast rural areas, and it is welcome news that they are now able to access support from the hardship fund.

“Stirling Council and our partners will work together to ensure the swift payment of these grants to those who qualify.”

Successful applicants will receive a one-off payment of £3,000 and applications must be made in the Local Authority area where the business is located.
