Stirling Council has introduced a contact tracing system at all open facilities to play its part in the Test and Protect process.
Test and Protect Contact Tracing Poster with QR Code

Starting Tuesday September 1, all staff and visitors to Council buildings currently operating through limited opening hours, such as libraries, registrars and essential offices, will sign in electronically on entry through the use of a QR Code, which links to an online form.

School and nursery pupils and staff will be exempt from the process and will continue to follow existing protocols in individual settings.

External visitors to education establishments will still be asked to provide their details through the new QR code.

While not a mandatory requirement for local authorities to implement, the new process bolsters Stirling Council’s efforts to protect staff and visitors, and assist Test and Protect in the event of a positive Covid-19 case linked to Council property.

Stirling Council Leader, Cllr Scott Farmer, said: “This is a sign of Stirling Council taking the initiative by introducing a quick and secure way to play our part in protecting public health.

“We have more than 4,000 officers working across a wide range of essential services. Many are working from home but some of our frontline services require to be at their desks here in Stirling.

“This simple but effective step means we will be prepared to respond to the Test and Protect service, if called upon.”

Posters will be displayed at reception and entrance areas of all relevant buildings and the QR Code can be accessed by opening the ‘camera’ function on most smart phones.

If your device does not automatically scan the code through the camera function, QR Scanner apps can be easily downloaded, or simply type the URL printed on the poster into your browser.

This is a simple but effective way of playing our part in the ongoing work to tackle this virus and we would ask everyone visiting our buildings to kindly co-operate.

Anyone unable to access the form through the above process, or for any other reason, can call 01786 404040 and Contact Centre Staff will be able to assist.
