Residents are asked to look out for the cards and store them in a safe place.

The postcards detail the Support for People telephone number 01786 404040 (8am-8pm), email contact communitysupport@stirling.gov.uk and the web address for an online form: www.stirling.gov.uk/supportforpeople

The network was set up at the start of April for anyone across the Stirling Council needing support during the Coronavirus pandemic.

To date, over 250 people have contacted the Council area looking for support and the local authority has responded to provide help where and when it’s needed either through our Staff Volunteers or Community Support Groups.

Stirling Council Leader, Cllr Scott Farmer said: “There are people across our communities who are perhaps elderly, vulnerable or isolated through disability or location. This helpline is for them.

“The people we are trying to reach might not have access to news on digital sources, or be comfortable using a mobile phone, so we are sending out these postcards and asking our communities to do their part in sharing this message.”

Depute Leader of Stirling Council, Cllr Danny Gibson said: “This is a massive operation to reach and support those in our communities who need help most.

“We need people right across the Stirling Council area to spread the message that help is out there and we are doing everything we can to look after our most vulnerable.”
