Voting will take place across all seven high schools in the area, Stirling University and selected community spaces between Friday, 15 March and Tuesday, 26 March.
The results will be announced in the Council Chambers at Old Viewforth on Friday, March 29, between 4-6pm, an event that will also be streamed live on Facebook.
Stirling Council’s Chief Education Officer, Kevin Kelman, will act as the presiding officer at the count.
Three candidates will be standing in Stirling for the two MSYP positions:
- Jamie McDiarmid (Stirling University and a previous MSYP for North Lanarkshire)
- Ewan Dillon (Dunblane High School)
- Lottie Hesp (McLaren High School)
The SYP is an important vehicle for young people to ensure their voices are heard by decision-makers, providing a national platform to discuss issues which are important to them and to campaign for change.
Elections are held every two years in all 32 local authorities and several national voluntary organisations, with MSYPs ranging in age from 14 to 25.
