Carers will receive letters from Social Security Scotland between 20th June 2019 and 21st June 2019 to confirm details of their payment.
This payment of £226.20 will be for carers who were getting Carer’s Allowance from the DWP on Monday 15th April.
This payment round will also include payments for people who were receiving Carer’s Allowance from the DWP on Monday 16th April 2018 and Monday 15th October 2018 who did not receive their payments in last year’s payment rounds.
This could be for a range of reasons, for example the DWP was investigating the claim and it was subsequently found to be valid.
There will be a small number of more complex cases where the payments may take slightly longer to allocate - for example where the recipient has died and we are looking to make the payment to their next of kin.
The next qualifying date for this year will be Monday 14th October and payments will be made in December.
If people qualify for both payments, they will receive a total of £452.40 in 2019.
