Local families are set to benefit from a host of new play equipment including a zip wire, multi climber unit, see saw and toddler rotator.
The funding has also been used to replace older equipment with new apparatus, including flat seat swings, cradle seat swings and a basket swing, helping to provide a variety of play experiences for all age groups.
Work was also undertaken to provide additional seating, create an improved entrance feature and carry out additional tree and bulb planting.
Stirling Council Land Services staff also completed the removals of redundant play equipment, and have refurbished and painted existing picnic tables.
The improvements were funded by a contribution of £56,815 from Mansell Homes and £49,500 from Ogilvie Homes/A&L Kings Builders (now Stewart Milne Homes).
Councillor Jim Thomson, convenor of Stirling Council’s Environment and Housing committee said: “The refurbishment of the playpark with such a wide variety of new and improved equipment has produced a fantastic facility that I am sure the children will have a great time using.
“We want our children to be as active and healthy as possible, and the improvements made to the playpark is a great example of how committed we are as a Council to providing facilities that will help them achieve this.”
Vice-Convenor Danny Gibson said: “The funding has made real changes to this park, providing an excellent outdoor facility for children and families to enjoy.
“The improvements are a wonderful example of the council engaging with the local community in order to take Stirling’s play parks and green spaces, which are a vital resource to our residents, to the next level.”
