The money is to go towards a legacy fund to support hospitality and event management skills development for local young people.
LCC Live directors Les and Claire Kidger presented the donation to Councillors Susan McGill and Maureen Bennison at the Viewforth Council HQ.
Children and Young People committee Convenor Cllr Susan McGill said: “The success of the Runrig concerts has really put City Parks on the map as an attractive venue for hosting major events.
“Stirling Council enjoyed working closely with LCC Live to help make the Runrig concerts happen and the estimated £7.25million benefit to the local economy was a huge boost for the city.
“This donation from LCC Live will be used to help give local young people the skillsets to help Stirling host more events of this type in the future.”
Community Planning and Regeneration committee Vice Convenor Cllr Bennison added: “It is a tremendous gesture by LCC Live to make this donation to say thank you for all the support they received from Stirling Council.
“Hopefully, there will be many more opportunities for us to work together again in future as the Runrig concerts were a fantastic boost for the city.”
Runrig enjoyed a spectacular farewell wowing 45,000 fans in the shadow of Stirling Castle over two days in August.
The event generated worldwide attention, with a staggering eight per cent of ticket holders travelling from abroad to be in Stirling for Runrig’s ‘The Last Dance’.
Revellers travelled from as far and wide as Australia, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, Scandinavia and the US.
Hotels across Central Scotland were sold out and traders including restaurants, bars and taxi firms reported a welcome boost.
Visit Scotland figures suggest the massive event is worth an estimated £7.25milion to the local economy.
LCC Live director Mr Kidger said: “LCC Live is committed to investing in the future of young people. This donation will be managed by Stirling Council to give local young people an opportunity to gain the skills needed to work in the hospitality and event industry.
“When hosting large-scale events and concerts like Runrig’s ‘The Last Dance’, we try where possible, to employ young people as a means of giving them experience and confidence to pursue a future career in the industry.”
