Working alongside Stirling’s Council’s Youth Team, members from Stirling’s younger community were involved in the planning and delivery of the event.
These included a multi-media production premiere, commissioned by the Youth Team which demonstrated the impact of youth work and the positive differences it makes. Among the other fun offerings were graffiti arts, retro gaming machines, The Cube Games (based on the TV show), a photo booth and jamming area.
Event supporters had interactive stalls at the venue, including Stirling Youth Forum, Active Stirling, LGBT Youth Scotland, PLUS Forth Valley, The Tolbooth, Doune and Deanston Youth Project, Young Scot and Play Services. The next generation of local musicians – the City Music Project - also performed on stage.
Convenor of Stirling’s Children and Young People Committee, Councillor Susan McGill, opened the event along with the planning group.
She said: “It was fantastic to attend the ‘YOYP Event’ and see the achievements of our young people and their important contribution to communities across Stirling.
“A key Council priority is investing in them to ensure they have the best possible start in life and can achieve their potential. This superb event was another platform for them to have their voices heard and showcase their amazing talents.”
