Subject to a number of conditions laid out in the planning report, the application for a petrol station with retail kiosk and a coffee shop with drive-through facilities was approved by the panel earlier this week (Tuesday).

The proposed development will be located at the southern end of Kildean Business Park, adjacent to Junction 10 of the M9.

The petrol station will provide services to locals and commuters on a 24 hour basis and the coffee shop will have set opening hours.

Central to the plans is the proposed layout. The petrol station with canopy and coffee shop are both of a ‘modern low profile’ design and both are single story buildings of a minimal height, which have been designed to respond to the surrounding land.

Planning and Regulation Panel Convenor Alasdair MacPherson said: “After much consideration of traffic and environmental factors, we believe these services would be an excellent development for Stirling.”
