The Scottish Fly Fair was held for the first time ever in Scotland when it was hosted at Stirling Court Hotel.

The event attracted visitors from all over the UK, who came to see some of the best tackle producers, fly tying brands, fishing outfitters, professional casting demonstrations and expert fly fishing tuition from around the world.

Stirling Council Fisheries Officer Scott Mason said, “This was a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase what excellent fishing opportunities we have on offer. We are working hard to make Stirling a must fish destination and this event added to this.

“The event took place in the grounds of Stirling University, a stone throw away from our fishing on the River Forth and only 20 minutes from our fishing in Callander, which provided the perfect venue for us to exhibit the fantastic fishing we have on our doorstep.”

Stirling Provost, Councillor Christine Simpson, said, “We are very proud that Stirling was chosen as the first Scottish venue for the Scottish Fly Fair, which allowed us to demonstrate the wonderful fishing that we have on offer.

“Anyone who visits our shores will be able to experience some of the best fishing the UK has to offer, as well as embrace the local spirit of the angling communities surrounding our rivers.”
