Persimmon Homes were seeking permission to build 500 residential units, an access off the A9 Main Street and the erection of a primary school. Their application sought planning permission in principle, where the details of the proposal, including layout, housing types and parking, are confirmed in subsequent applications.
The house builder’s second application sought full planning permission for 198 residential units with a new access off the A9 Main Street and open space.
Both applications were presented before Stirling Council’s Planning and Regulation Panel today (Tuesday 30th January).
Convenor of the Planning and Regulation Panel, Councillor Alasdair Macpherson said, “Stirling Council has sought to ensure that there would be sufficient school capacity and healthcare facilities to accommodate these developments. The matter of road safety was also not addressed by the applicant.
“It is, in part, due to the lack of commitment from the developer to secure such capacity that these applications have been refused.”
