A recent unannounced inspection at Park Drive Nursery has praised the quality of care, support and staffing at the organisation.

Inspectors found there continues to be a positive impact on outcomes for children, due to both the family work being carried out and how parents are consulted and included in the life of the service.

Parents gave many examples of how the team had worked with them to help with different, and often difficult, times in their lives. Strong links with parents and other professionals ensured children with additional support needs got the right support at the right time.

The majority of children were said to be confident, relaxed and happy. Good nutrition was supported through varied substantial snacks and initiatives, like the 'wee wander' walk, which contributed to their overall health and wellbeing.

Inspectors also found staff to be nurturing and respectful towards children, and that children were encouraged to be kind to each other, and many had developed strong friendships.

Acting Head of Park Drive Nursery, Alison Paterson, said, “The nursery team have a clear vision to provide a nurturing environment where children are happy, included and are encouraged to thrive. We aim to achieve this by fully embedding a robust quality assurance and self-evaluation process.”

Education Convenor Susan McGill said, “I am delighted that the inspectors gave the nursery such a good report. It was particularly pleasing that they recognised the good work that staff at the nursery had done with families which has benefited both the parents and children.”
