A new place-based approach will allow Stirling’s rural south west communities to influence the transformation of their local public services.

Stirling Council is developing a placed-based approach that seeks to plan, design, and deliver services differently around people, families and communities.

Rural south west communities, including Arnprior, Balfron, Buchanan, Buchlyvie, Carron Valley, Croftamie, Drymen, Fintry, Gargunnock, Kippen, Killearn and Strathblane, are the first in Stirling Council to be offered the opportunity to implement this new approach.

The adoption of a place-based approach will help to understand the unique features of the rural south west area, while acknowledging that everyone who lives, works and invests in the region has a role to play.

By working collaboratively with the people who live and work locally, the approach will target entire communities and aim to revitalize multiple aspects of the region, in order to create lasting change for its residents.

The local authority is inviting individuals, community organisations, local businesses, the voluntary sector and partners to discuss and create a place-based approach for the Rural South West area, based on their place and their priorities, at a special public meeting.

The meeting will take place on Tuesday 24th October at Balfron Campus between 7pm and 9.30pm.
