Funded by Stirling Council to improve transport links for people living in outlying areas, the new bus services will launch this Friday (December 1st) in a pilot scheme until March.
Stirling Council is investing £140,000 in a project to expand the scope and coverage of transport in rural areas and the new services were developed in partnership with local communities.
As part of the scheme, a new shopping bus will run on the first and third Saturday of the month from Tyndrum, Crianlarich, Killin, Lochearnhead, Kingshouse and Strathyre to Stirling.
A social bus from Stirling to Callander will be introduced every Friday and Saturday, with an early evening Friday/Saturday bus departing from Balfron at 6.20pm, to provide easier access to and from Stirling for residents.
The three new routes will be piloted until the end of March next year, when passenger numbers will be collated along with customer feedback to assess the success of the services.

Convenor of the Environment and Health Committee, Councillor Jim Thomson, said, “The new bus services offer a fantastic way for rural residents, such as those in Balfron, to access a greater range of services, from employment to health care and social events.
“We have invested in this pilot project and it is now up to residents to make the most of these new bus routes and prove that there is a demand for them to continue beyond the pilot period.”
