Paul Cassidy, Stirling High School Headteacher, said: “This is an exciting development of our curriculum at Stirling High School that will enable our young people to develop their knowledge and skills. We have been working with Class of Your Own to establish a partnership with Turner& Townsend.

“The school is fortunate to be in partnership with a company of such a high quality as Turner & Townsend. This will benefit our young people in creating the opportunity for them to gain real-life experience of the world of work.”

Suzanne Graham, Director at Turner & Townsend, who will be the main day-to-day link with the school said: “Turner & Townsend is delighted to have the opportunity to enhance the curriculum for young people studying at Stirling High School. We are looking forward to the new academic year and cannot wait to start our learning journey with pupils.

“The Adopt a School Programme will provide opportunities for pupils to learn about all aspects of the construction industry and how their working and living environments are built. We hope to inspire both girls and boys to realise their potential for a career in the construction industry.”

Turner & Townsend began as a single quantity surveying partnership in the UK founded in 1946, and have grown to become a world-leading professional services company, with 97 offices around the globe.  Through the programme, they will offer advice, site visits and mentoring to young people.

Interactive, online workbooks have been developed by leaders in the construction industry and lessons will be delivered by Anthony Finn in the Design and Technology department in Stirling High School.

Suzanne Graham added: “Anthony and the team from Turner & Townsend will work closely together to map out the programme of work to ensure we make the most of the opportunities available to the young people.”
