The Scottish National Party and Scottish Labour have confirmed a partnership agreement to run Stirling Council as a majority administration.
At a meeting of the new Council on Thursday, 24 May, following the Scottish Council Elections on May 4, Councillor Scott Farmer (SNP) was elected as Council Leader with Councillor Danny Gibson (Scottish Labour) elected as Depute Leader.
Councillor Christine Simpson (Scottish Labour) was named as Stirling’s new Provost, and Councillor Graham Houston (SNP) as Depute Convener.
A number of other appointments were decided during the meeting including Bailies and committee conveners.
At the start of the meeting, a minute’s silence was held to remember the victims of the Manchester terror attack.
