The 12th Off the Page Stirling Libraries Book Festival starts on Thursday 4th May 2017, taking place over the next ten days throughout Stirling and offers a varied programme of authors’ talks, music events and poetry for adults, children and families.
Renowned Scottish author and playwright Alan Bissett will perform The Moira Monologues at the Tolbooth Theatre on Friday 5th May for the first time in Stirling.
Man Booker winning author James Kelman is also giving a special performance on Tuesday 9th May at the Tolbooth, where he will talk about his latest book ‘Dirt Road’ which has been filmed featuring local musician Neil Sutcliffe, who will be performing music at the event with The Dirt Roadsters.
Crime authors Lin Anderson, Alex Gray and Alanna Knight will perform their Femme Fatale panel event in Drymen and other crime authors include Craig Russell and James Oswald at Central Library and Craig Robertson at St Ninians Library. The ‘How to Get Published’ event in partnership with the University of Stirling focuses on self-publishing with Samantha Young, Vicki Clifford and publisher Duncan Lockerbie.
Junior events include a Comic-kids event at the Tolbooth on Saturday 6th May, Adventure Time Party at Cambusbarron Library on Saturday 13th May and My Secret Unicorn with Linda Chapman at St Ninians Library. Author of BoyFace books James Campbell will be appearing at Raploch Campus on Friday 12th May in his comedy performance which blends storytelling and talking about writing.
