About the school
Doune Primary is a co-educational, non-denominational school with nursery for children from 2 to 12 years of age. The school occupies a picturesque site enjoying views across fields and woodland towards Doune Castle. Doune Nursery is situated within the grounds. Our staff team are committed to providing safe, responsive and inspiring learning both indoors and outdoors which supports the future generation.
Doune Primary is a single-storey building. During session 2011 the school underwent a complete refurbishment and extension. The school has a fully equipped gym, a reference library area, eight classrooms, open areas for P1-3, P4-5 and P5, 6&7, a dining hall, “kids’ kitchen” and production kitchen, wildlife garden with pond, three asphalt play areas and a 1.5-acre playing field.
Catchment areas
Each school has its own geographic area called a catchment area. Normally, your child will attend your local catchment school. If you wish your child to attend a school other than the catchment school you are required to make a placing request.
